A beautiful smile makes us feel great about ourselves, offering an instant boost to our self-esteem and self-confidence.
A great smile can help you win friends, warm hearts, and feel great about the way you look. Unfortunately, if you don’t like the appearance of your smile, it may bring anything but happiness. You don’t have to keep avoiding social situations, feeling embarrassed, and hiding your smile from cameras. We would love to give you a dazzling smile that you can’t wait to show off! Cosmetic treatments can whiten a smile, fill spaces and gaps in teeth, repair cracks, and reshape teeth.

Bonding is a process in which tooth-coloured composite resin is bonded onto a tooth to change it’s shape, colour and/or size. Bonding is most often used to close gaps between teeth and/or repair cracks or chips in teeth in order to enhance the aesthetic appearance of your smile.
Bonding can be done in a single appointment. At this appointment, your dentist will prepare your teeth for the bonding and restore them with a resin that is colour-matched so that it appears natural. Your dentist utilizes a layering technique which uses multiple shades of resin to give the teeth a more natural look. All of the resins used at Downtown Georgetown Dental are Bisphenol-A (BPA)-free.
If there is something about your smile that you want to improve, talk to your dentist at Downtown Georgetown Dental to determine if bonding is the smile solution that you desire.
Dental bonding can be used to fix teeth that are chipped.
A clear plastic is placed between the tooth being treated and its neighbouring tooth. Composite resin is put on the tooth in layers.
Each layer of the composite resin is shaped and then hardened with a light.
The finished tooth looks natural and smooth.
Do you want to transform your smile? One of the most popular and effective ways to do so is with veneers. Veneers are durable, yet extremely thin ceramic shells which are custom-made to permanently cover the front surface of teeth, changing their shape, size, length, position and/or colour.
Veneers can be used to fix a number of cosmetic dentistry concerns including spaces between teeth (called diastemas), broken or chipped teeth, crooked or misaligned teeth (which might otherwise require orthodontics) and/or permanently stained or discoloured teeth that cannot be whitened. Veneers instantly change the look of your smile while still looking natural because they are colour matched to your existing teeth. Other benefits of veneers? The process of transforming your smile is fast – the entire process can be completed in only a few visits to the dentist (unlike orthodontics) and is somewhat conservative, requiring less tooth reduction from the surface of existing teeth than other cosmetic procedures such as crowns.
In general, at the first appointment, you will meet with your dentist to discuss how you want to make-over your smile and the outcome that you want to achieve. At this appointment, digital diagnostic images will be taken as well as various records and dental impressions, all of which will be used to create a wax model of your new smile for you to view and approve in consultation with your dentist. At the second appointment, your teeth will be prepared for the dental veneers and temporary veneers, custom-made by your dentist, will be placed on your teeth. The temporary veneers will simulate your new smile so you have a chance to see what it will look like before the lab creates the permanent veneers for you. As an additional benefit, you will leave the office looking even better than when you arrived! At the next appointment, the temporary veneers will be removed and the permanent veneers will be affixed to your teeth for a beautiful, natural looking smile.
Do you wish your teeth were whiter? Teeth can darken, stain or discolour for a variety of reasons including age, smoking and consumption of various foods and beverages including coffee, tea and red wine. However, getting a dramatically whiter smile has never been easier, faster or more effective. At Downtown Georgetown Dental, we are pleased to offer our patients both in-office and at-home whitening options. Whether you are celebrating a special milestone such as an engagement, wedding, anniversary, promotion, reunion or holiday (or just want to treat yourself), whitening your teeth is an inexpensive way to give your smile a noticeable enhancement.
Zoom! Teeth Whitening
As seen on ABC’s Extreme Makeover television show, Zoom! is an in-office teeth whitening procedure that takes approximately one hour and achieves dramatic whitening results. The complete process begins with a preparation period in which a light-activated gel is applied to the teeth and then exposed to the Zoom! lamp for approximately 45 minutes.
Call today to book a Zoom! teeth whitening session which includes a complimentary consultation to determine if you are a viable candidate for this procedure. A cleaning is recommended prior to the actual Zoom! teeth whitening session to remove superficial stains.

Home Teeth Whitening System
Home whitening is a great way to gradually whiten teeth. The process involves the taking of impressions to create custom-made trays to hold the whitening gel and which fit over your teeth. In general, whitening results will be apparent after only a few uses of the gel. A cleaning is recommended prior to whitening to remove superficial stains.
